I mostly did some color correction, added a bit of contrast and saturation, and then I decided to give it a sunset-ish look by increasing contrast in red. What do you think? Is this better?

Firstly I've taken a look at the original shot to compare and see what you've edited, and I like the results especially where the foreground rocks and sea are concerned. I think you've managed to get a deeper hue of blue and a crisper image with what you've done without over saturating the water.
However when my eyes are drawn up to the mountains, I definitely feel like there has been a little too much adjusting done. The white spots on the left hand side look a little over saturated and in some areas on closer inspection there's a lot of saturated blue poking through. You've framed nicely against the sky, and framed well in general which is really good.
Just have a look at your levels when next editing, great for the sea/water but possibly a little too harsh on the rest.
